President Trump’s recent fixation on “communists”—seemingly in response to the recent success of numerous “Democratic Socialists”—not only reminds this humble spirit of the 1950s “Red Scare,” but of that awful book from a couple years back, Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them). The authors claim the American left—people they characterize as too twisted and malicious to deserve the status of human beings or be accorded human rights—plans to terrorize and subjugate America under a communist dictatorship. These supposed “unhumans” are not only communists, but socialists, leftists, radicals, revolutionaries, cultural Marxists, and even everyday run-of-the-mill progressives. Trump likes to call them the “radical left SCUM that hate our country,” but in reality, of course, they’re anyone who opposes his corrupt oligarchy, which the polls now show to be almost two-thirds of the country.
As one reviewer summarized the book, it “argues that leftists don’t deserve the status of human beings—that they are, as the title says, unhumans—and that they are waging a shadow war against all that is good and decent, which will end in apocalyptic slaughter if they are not stopped.” Not surprisingly, it showers praise on many of history’s most famous fascists, rightly including Elon Musk, for their existential struggle against the dark forces of communism.
Another critic said, “It is perhaps the most paranoid, hateful, and terrifying book I have ever picked up. (I say this as someone who has read Mein Kampf.)” Some of the book’s outlandish passages include:
- “There is no way to reason with those who manipulate the have-nots en masse to loot and to shoot. They simply hate those who are good-looking and successful.”
- “Ugly liars who hate and kill” are…undertaking the “distinct revolutionary movement we are witnessing in the modern-day West.”
- “By becoming consumed with nihilism, unhumans oppose everything that makes up humanity.”
Well, bless the authors’ little fascist hearts, they certainly fancy themselves good-looking and successful, don’t they? And if there’s anyone who ever “manipulated the have-nots en masse to loot and shoot,” it’s Trump himself, rallying his MAGA mignons to attack the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.
Has Anyone Broken it to these Dudes that THEY are Major UGLY?!
According to Steve Bannon’s introduction, “Communism is when ugly deformed freaks make it illegal to be normal, then rob and/or kill all successful people out of petty resentment and cruelty. The ideology is all just window dressing.” Or maybe, Mr. Bannon, a lot of perfectly good, very normal people are attracted to the Democratic Socialist message because Trump’s “K-shaped” economy is making it impossible for them to maintain a middle-class lifestyle, let alone pursue the American dream.
And according to Trump’s virulently racist, seemingly obsessed deportation maestro, Stephen Miller, “When you look at these violent antifa demonstrations…to be blunt, not one of [them] looks like a normal person. They’re all deformed in some way, in their appearance, in their dress, in their mannerism. Why is that?…Why is there not one normal looking person among them? Every one of them, through the course of their life and their decisions, has scarred their body and their appearance in many different ways, to the point at which their outer appearance becomes a manifestation of their inner hatred.”
How rich is that?! Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller, out of all the people on the planet earth, talking about “ugly deformed freaks” and people who are “deformed in some way…their outer appearance becoming a manifestation of their inner hatred.” It sure sounds like two sick pots calling the kettle black to me. I’m sorry to be cruel, but someone needs to break it to these dudes that THEY are the UGLY ones.
