As we approach the mid-term elections, a lot of people are deeply unhappy about the state of our country, not to mention the world. The stock market, fueled almost exclusively by the hysterics of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, is making the rich even richer, while most Americans have been left behind with nothing to look forward to except higher costs, the threat of unemployment, and even the possibility of extinction. Never mind hoping your children’s life is better than your own, people are being told that AI may end the world as we know it. Neither President Trump nor his tech oligarchs seem to understand why people hate AI and don’t want its enormous, gluttonous data centers anywhere near them. When Henry Ford launched the Model-T, did he tell people it was an “existential threat to humanity”? If he had, it’s a good bet he wouldn’t have sold quite so many cars.
Trump seems to think AI is like crypto currency, just another opportunity for grift, but right now its development is all but monopolizing America’s investment capital for a product that might never turn a profit. The coup de grâce will come when the AI bubble bursts, as many predict it will, and in order to avoid a total economic collapse, the government is forced to step in and bail out Silicon Valley, not unlike when it bailed out the big banks in the 2008 financial crisis, while millions of Americans lost their homes. The idea that American taxpayers could be forced to rescue a bunch of billionaire tech titans is enough to make this humble spirit vomit.

AI Data Centers are the Perfect Metaphor for Technology and its Power-Hungry Titans Taking over the Country.
Against all odds, despite the corruption, his many failures and horrendous lies, the polls show that about a third of Americans still support President Trump, steadfast in their belief that he’s fighting for them, that he loves America and its people, and all will be well. And despite the dramatic drop in Trump’s overall approval ratings, there’s one core group of supporters who refuse to let go, (mostly white) MAGA men. More than half of them (57%), way more than any other group, were hoping to view the livestream of Nidal Hasan’s execution proposed by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth but thankfully rejected by President Trump. Let me be clear, I have no sympathy for Hasan, a terrorist who murdered 13 people and wounded 32 at Ft. Hood in 2009, but do we live in a modern, civilized society or barbaric MAGA land? These dudes’ rage at the “other” is seemingly boundless. As hard as they try, they can’t buy enough guns, threaten their enemies with enough violence, or watch enough public executions to get it out of their system.
President Trump, meanwhile, desperate to rally Republican support in the midterms, continues his futile campaign of distraction, telling one rally, for example, that Democrats want to “raise your taxes. . . annihilate your very secure borders, decimate jobs, mutilate your children. They want to mutilate, cut your children. It’s unbelievable what they do. . .Your son leaves as Jimmy and comes back home in three days as Janet. And they don’t even ask you.” He urged them to “defeat the Democrat communists and vote for more money in your pockets, bigger paychecks for your families, lower taxes, less crime, a booming economy. . . All you have to do is vote Republican and you’re going to have all that and more.”
That’s exactly what they voted for, Mr. President, but unfortunately with you they got the opposite. And will Trump and the Republicans ever put a lid on that ridiculous sex-change paranoia routine?
